I’ve Finally Learned to Spin!

It's been a LONG journey to get to now! We've kept sheep since 2015, I received my DIY spinning wheel kit in 2018 as a gift, I finally finished staining and putting it together in 2021, and I've just learned... Continue Reading →

The Crocuses Are Up!

Spring is on its way! I'm so excited! Even though we are in between a couple of snowstorms from the stretching of the #PolarVortex, I can finally see the end of the tunnel. It's time to plant seeds for vegetable... Continue Reading →

Snow & Freezing Fog

We got about four (4) inches of snow in this last storm, and then had freezing fog this morning. It's a winter wonderland out there! My favorite (I don't even like snow) kind of snow is the kind that melts... Continue Reading →

Late April Snowstorm: Lambs’ First Snow

April 20: Our last frost date was about two days before this... Don't worry, it all melted by 2pm that afternoon!

Snow & Black Lambs

Yes, we had a dusting once before, but this is the first real decent snow for the lambs. They didn't quite know what to think, but then they went heels-up! We got about 5 inches on New Year's Day with some drifts approaching a foot.

First Snow & Killing Freeze

Well, it has happened. However, it's worth it, if it helped contain the #EastTroublesomeFire and #CameronPeakFire. It'll probably be melted by tomorrow anyways!

My Constant Cat Companion

You know, he may be a bit of a cat-curse, but he is super loyal. He goes with me everywhere, supervises me during my chores, provides quality assurance, plays with anything that has a string on it, etc. He is my constant companion outdoors. Who needs dogs?! I have Orange the Cat for a dog!

Ice Storm Isaiah

Thanks a lot, Isaiah! What an ice storm! Although it wasn't the worst ice storm ever, it did knock our power out for 8 hours. We got power back on at midnight last night. Thank you, linemen!

The Ewes Are In-Lamb

The ewes were bred starting the 18th of October. So, we will start watching for lambs to drop around March 12. I'm so excited! However, I may have gotten carried away, or rather the ram got carried away, because we have the propensity for 7-21 lambs.
