We are about a third of the way through shearing now. It takes us a couple of weeks because we not only shear each sheep, but we also do a health check, vaccinate, trim hooves, and then we skirt, grade, and bag each fleece! We also take our time to go easy on our backs and constitutions as it’s just Hubby and I doing all of the work, we are getting “old”, and we only do this once per year.

Hawk and Heron have beautiful fleeces again this year.

Orca got sheared for the first time! His baby fleece was stunning and I can’t wait to make something out of it! I’m obsessed with it.

Little Spinner, our tiniest one-year-old ewe, gave us the finest, crimpiest fleece we’ve ever seen come out of our flock!

We have plenty more sheep to go, but we’ve been working in between the weather as it has been cooler, stormier, and rainier than normal. We aren’t complaining though because we REALLY need the rain! We are very thankful for how much we have received thus far and are looking forward to the next round of storms, barring tornadoes and/or hail.
