Finally! Holy sheep! It took me 20 years to make this afghan. I’m so glad to finally be finished! And not just 95% finished, 100% finished!

When I was a little girl I did a lot of crafts, but I never had a chance to use all this yarn. In my late teens I started crocheting granny squares, determined to put the yarn to use. I’ve been crocheting granny squares ever since.

To be honest, I’ve been mostly done since 2017, but I laid the project down for a while. I’ve just finished crocheting the last few squares, sewing all the squares together, and crocheting a thin border on to tie it all together. This afghan will go back to college with the Son, to keep him warm in the air conditioned dorm.

I used an invisible seam stitch.

He will give it a good home. We spent a lot of time in 2017 coming up with this design. We call it his “minecraft” afghan (maybe you’ve heard of the videogame?). Anyways. If you can’t make it out, it’s a palm tree on a beach. Fitting for him as he is going to college in Florida!

Big enough to fit a twin-sized bed!
