Happy Belated Halloween! Normally I carve a pumpkin, but this year I REALLY wanted to finish these silly oven mitts. I’m so proud of myself.
After my maternal grandmother died last year, my mother sent me some of Grandma’s scrap fabric. I decided I would try to use it up as much as possible, but now I’m wondering if it is going to be a lifelong endeavor! Ha!
I mean, I don’t sew very much. I’ve been known to quilt a little (e.g., make a pillow), sew some small decor items, and mend clothes. I do have my own fabric that I need to use. So, it is going to be a huge challenge to try to use up Grandma’s fabric, even though there is very little of it.
Anyways, I started these mitts LAST year around Halloween, but didn’t get a chance to finish them until yesterday. This is huge, People! I guess I’m cutting up pumpkins and baking seeds today then!
We had a nice bonfire on Saturday night. It was perfect out. No wind at the time (later it blew like a gale all night). We were hoping to catch a glimpse of the aurora, but instead we just counted passing satellites and shooting stars.
