I haven't written a blog post here since November of last year; the posts on this site aren't widely read anyways. Regardless, I'm endeavoring to pick up my keyboard again and post more frequently to this journal/blog. In the interim... Continue Reading →
We purchased a high top dining table and chairs when we first got married. Mink likes to sit on a chair, find a crack in the vinyl, and tear bits and pieces off. So, I decided it was time... Time... Continue Reading →
Nope, black sheep baby fleece. I'd been inspecting Raven's baby fleece from last year, and when I walked away for just ONE moment, that's all it took. Then the cats started fighting over it. One would kick the other out... Continue Reading →
Sometimes you just gotta have an iced latte even in the middle of winter. My rheumatologist recently changed my meds and now I feel like I have cotton mouth, I'm nauseated, and I'm desperately thirsty all the time. (Hopefully these... Continue Reading →
Today is the Solstice, which means we are in the backstretch! I'm thrilled about longer days and more sunshine! Solar powered here. I love it when the planet starts tilting back towards the sun again. Spring is also just around... Continue Reading →
I spent some time with my bottle lamb, Clove, today. I've been feeding her grain morning and night since I let the ewes back down to the barn for the winter, trying to get her to put some weight on.... Continue Reading →

We are all moved! It's taken me a while to sit down and admit this as it's been "traumatic". I returned to Kansas with the last load on June 29, and we didn't finish unloading the truck until yesterday!

So, a couple of weeks ago, in the middle of the night, I sat bolt upright in bed having heard a cat scream the most blood-curdling scream ever. I woke up yelling our outdoor cat's name, Tito, knowing for sure the scream meant he was in the throes of death.
Well, we made it through Hurricane Irma after sheltering in-place. We did not have any significant damage. The worst that happened was the metal cover over our ag well was peeled back like the lid on a sardine can.
